Wild animals, especially felins, are thought to be cold-blooded killers and it’s highly dangerous to be around them without protection. This is certainly not th case since 69-year-old Frikkie Von Solms, a South African caretaker, spent 11 years taking care of Zion, a gentle, loving African Lion.
“People talk about lions like they are just lions but they have personalities, they have humour and laugh. Zion is a gentle giant. He has never attacked humans and I trust him completely.”, said Von Solms.
Zion Was separated from his mother for being in danger of being killed by his father.
He spent 11 years of his life being raised by Frikkie.
Zion prefers Frikkie to walk without shoes because the noise bothers him.
An 11-year-old lion and a 69-year-old human have become best friends.
Frikkie said Zion is a gentle giant and has never attacked humans.
He also said it was once in a lifetime experience to grow up wth him and learn about the stages of being a lion.
Frikkie really l0ves the lion.
They even share a truck and a bed.
Frikkie raised 19 lions, cheetahs, and tigers, but the bond he shared with Zion is special.
Zion lets Frikkie hold his tail.
